Killed in action on 24 August 1914 in Nimy (Belgium), the military Lieutenant Maurice James Dease who was awarded the first Victoria Cross posthumously in the First World War and he received it on the first day of the first significant British battle of this war.

Other types used include German Goerz cameras, but the Graflex RB was the most advanced camera of its time and carried on being made almost unchanged until after WW2. Speed range from 1- 1/1000 sec. Bausch & Lomb Zeiss Tessar f4.5 7 1/16in made in 1910. Ilford FP4 at 200 asa. developed in old stock Aculux. No enhancement. Plustek 120 scanner.
