The 38th Dogras arrived in Egypt in April 1918 where they joined the 10th Division which was then undergoing a major reorganisation with many British units being replaced by Indian ones. The regiment went on to serve in Palestine, taking part in the battles of Megiddo and Nablus before helping capture Damascus (1918).
