Painting titled Washington Rallying the Troops at Monmouth; depicts George Washington at the 1778 Battle of Monmouth. In 1857, Leutze painted a copy one-third of this size for the Monmouth County Historical Association.

Photo of the battlefield at Monmouth Battlefield State Park, Freehold, NJ. This photo is very similar to one that appears on page 69 of Brian Morrissey's book Monmouth Courthouse 1778. While the landscape and trees are identical, the author's photo does not show the split-rail fences. The caption of Morrissey's photo reads, "View north from Comb's Hill".
