IT History Society’s 2nd Annual Conference

The IT History Society (http://www.IThistory.org) announces its second annual conference, entitled “Leveraging Yesterday: Using History to Create Value Today and Tomorrow in the High-Tech Company.” The Conference will be held at the Applied Materials Facilities in Santa Clara, California on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. The emphasis of this half-day conference is a presentation on how three technology companies (Agilent, IBM, and Symantec) have derived benefit from having an on-going active curator and archival activity.
“The board and our advisors are very excited about this forthcoming 2nd annual meeting,” said Jeffery Stein, Chairman of the IT History Society. “Now we have an upcoming venue to hear real stories on the bottom line benefits and more of IT corporations preserving their great heritage and history.”
A major goal of the IT History Society is to communicate to IT corporations the many benefits of an active historical and archive function. Too many companies toss out their history and lose the many benefits that can be accrued over time.
The meeting is being held at Applied Materials, 3050 Bowers Ave., Santa Clara, CA 95054; and attendees will have a chance to view the Applied Materials Heritage Exhibit.
