@MCPEA91 It’s not so much that; the reason you see that is something called slip angle. Tires nowadays are designed with a low slip angle, but the tires you see here grip more when they are sliding due to the way the tire deforms.
I wish all race cars had less grip, cuz the closes form of racing we get where the cars slide these days is nascar when there on a proper race track
Thank you FIA for destroying another jewel in motorsport racing… After screwing up the Formula 1 and Group B they had to poke their big noses into this aswell. The kind of duels in time of the old DTM were a thrill to watch…
SO MUCH DIVERSITY! You had AWD Alfas, Audi Quattros, Mercedes C-class, BMW E30’s, Tyres from Bridge, Yokohama, Pirelli, Michelin, there was competition in everything. Now motor racing is all control tyres and unified engine formulas. I miss Group A!!

Da war das DTM noch richtiges DTM und die Autos noch schön
@pedragluxor The Alfa is actually shown in the vid, and it was only the dominating car for one year - 1993 when it got inroduced to the DTM. The two following years Mercedes won the championship and after 1995 the series was discontinued. The car that was really dominating the DTM (albeit for a short time) was the Audi V8 quattro. It won the title in 1990 and 1991. As a result the regulations for the cars were changed for 1992 and Audi lost it´s advantage and pulled out of the DTM.
