This is not the Shore Hotel, but the Shore Theater (former Loew’s Coney Island) which was actually landmarked today! The Shore Hotel was a three-story wooden building on the south side of Surf which was demolished on Dec 10, 2010. These 2 buildings are often confused (including on flickr, twitter etc.). Probably because the theater looks more like a hotel than anything. This is the Shore Hotel:
